Desk Comparison

Why do we have four different desk Series
on our site?

How do you choose what goes on the site?

One of the most frequent questions we get asked by our customers is what is the difference between Series 1/2/3 desks. There is a very clear structure in how we specify our desk frames, why they cost what they do and also how they perform so please read on.

Let's get some basic rules out of the way on what we will sell and what tests must be passed:

  • The desks must pass our in house QA tests for load, noise, rigidity, construction, powder coating quality, durability and ease of construction
  • They must have been lifetime tested to reach a minimum of 20000 cycles
  • They must come from a factory which we visit and approved to at minimum ISO9001 standards and we also inspect any key sub-contractors they outsource too
  • The manufacturing company must have a moral and ethical code of business and must be financially stable
  • The desks frames must pass one year of field trials in the UK
  • The desks frames must be certified by international organisations for their stability and electrical safety.

So if you pass these tests you can be considered for supply. The attrition rate is high amongst suppliers we test and we generally take 2 years to approve a supplier.

Why four different sources of manufacture?

We have four manufacturing supply bases because we want to make sure that:

  • We are bringing you the customer value for money
  • Are able to avail of technology advances from a range of source
  • There is a range of pricing on the site to meet the needs of all our clients

So what are the differences?

Commercial/Pro/Advance

These desks are manuafctured in China however the manufacturer integrates electronics and motors from a Taiwanese company called Ti-Motion into the desk. Ti-Motion is a very large, global organisation and spend considerable sums on R&D to ensure the longevity of their products. The net result is a very stable, well made, full commercial grade desk. We have thousands of these desks in the field and to date none have failed. Recently we introduced the Advance desk which has the manufacturers own electronics inside and Bosch® motors while the Pro model has the most advances Ti-Motion controls and drives available.

Soho

This desks is yet again made in China by a company which specialises in the manufacture of office accessories. Gostand has a close relationship with this company and has tested many of their products in a wide range of applications. This desk is aimed more at the domestic and light commercial market and being cheaper attracts a lower warranty duration although to date the desks are as reliable as all but the European.

European

Finally we bring you a European desk with the leg assemblies and controls being supplied by the Danish company Linak. Global leaders in the field of actuation and medical devices they have a long pedigree in manufacturing desk sub-systems. Their control systems do largely what the other systems do however we feel they bring some Scandinavian panache to their designs. A full commercial grade desk it is more expensive that the others.

Picking the right desk is difficult so use the feature comparison chart below to assist you
